3rd-grade players will be divided equally into teams.

4th-8th grade players will be placed on appropriate teams based on their tryout performance, previous season player evaluations, attitude, coachability, and commitment to the game of basketball.  Players are not placed on teams based upon coaching availability.  Tryouts are closed to parents.

Players may be moved to different teams following the first few weeks of practice to secure the best placement and success of each individual player.

Practice:

Practices will start at the end of October.  Practice schedules will be shared through the SportsEngine app and will be listed on our website.  We share and coordinate gym space with multiple other sports and organizations.  For this reason, we may only have a practice schedule available week by week.  Typically, practices will occur on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, as well as Saturday mornings.  Occasionally there may be a Friday evening or Saturday afternoon practice.

3rd Graders:

Third grade teams will participate in the MYAS league this year.

Third Grade MYAS League Information

Dates of play TBD

They will play in the New Prague Home Tournament.

Tournaments:

Tournament play will start in mid-November and conclude by early March, and will vary by team and grade level.  The tournament schedule will be communicated via the SportsEngine app and our website once the season has started.  Tournaments are held on weekends.  Most of the tournaments are held on one-day, but will be listed as 2 day event in the tournament schedule.  We generally receive the tournament schedule and information within 1 week of the tournament date.  Coaches will communicate any tournament details or release information in the SportsEngine app or via email.

Fundraising:  None!

Volunteering:

Parents are asked to do volunteer hours at our home tournament in January.  The number of hours required will fluctuate each year but is generally 3-4 hours per family.  Our home tournament is our main fundraising source.  Volunteer hours include set up, concessions, clock, book, and clean up.  Families that do not fulfill their volunteer hours during the tournament will be assessed a $100 fee per hour.
