OFF-SEASON TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
The New Prague Basketball association encourages off-season basketball training. Below is a list of different opportunities available to the New Prague boys interested in improving their basketball skills. Not all of these options are association sponsored.
SUMMER ASSOCIATION BASKETBALL
The Details
Summer association basketball begins June 17th this year running until August 14th every Monday and Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. There is no cost to this amazing opportunity.
This option is not mandatory however, this is a great time to get into the gym and work on skills with basketball coaches.
The week of the 4th of July will be off.
This is for incoming 3rd through 8th graders for the 2024-2025 school year who are part of the program or looking to be part of the program.
To participate in the summer basketball you MUST have this liability form completed. It will cover all sessions.
ASSOCIATION OFF-SEASON CHALLENGE
SUMMER 2024 INFORMATION
This summer is going to be another great opportunity for all NPBBA athletes to continue to build ball handling, shooting, scoring, and team basketball skills.
This year, the NPBA will be running a challenge for all of our incoming athletes in grades 3-8 (2024-25 school year). We will be tracking the amount of time spent playing basketball and working on basketball skills. .
Goals:
Incoming 3rd and 4th graders = 50 hours.
Incoming 5th and 6th graders = 75 hours.
Incoming 7th and 8th graders = 100 hours.
The challenge will run from May through September.

TRACKING INFORMATION
You get credit for any type of basketball work. You are encouraged to work on your ball handling and agility. You are encouraged to shoot game shots at game speed, including free throws. We encourage you to organize your friends and siblings to play basketball together in the driveway, at a neighborhood park, or at the Fitness Center. We hope to see you at our summer camps and programs. Please see the New Prague Boys Basketball Association website for a list of additional summer basketball opportunities.
All athletes will get 2 HOURS of credit for each day of attendance at Coach Peterka’s camps through Community Education.
Players must keep a log of their basketball progress. A simple tracking calendar is attached to this email. Please print this in the landscape orientation for proper formatting.
Tracking totals will be submitted to NPBBA via a Google Form sent to athlete/guardian via an email in October.
Athletes will submit their paper tracking calendar to NPBBA in the fall. Those who complete the challenge will be recognized at a boys’ basketball game during the 2024-25 season.
LOCAL SUMMER CAMP OPPORTUNITIES
SHOOTING CAMP - Registration through community education.
Dates: May 28th - May 31st
BALL HANDLING AND COMPETITION CAMP -Registration through community education.
Dates: June 3rd - June 6th
Former NPHS head and college coach, AJ Jasperson, will be providing one-hour basketball skill development sessions M-Th for 5 weeks. Players will be improving basketball skills including, but not limited to: ball handling, passing, shooting, getting to the basket, and FT shooting.
OTHER SUMMER CAMP OPPORTUNITIES
MIDWEST 3 ON 3 LEAGUES
3 on 3 Leagues offered in the Spring, Summer, and Fall at different locations throughout the state.
The New Prague Basketball Association encourages off-season basketball development. While we do not actively promote or collaborate with any AAU basketball or training programs, we have compiled a list of these opportunities for your reference.
